In order for an image to be representational, it has to adhere to certain rules. One of these rules seems to be that it must display or imply a horizon line. Occasionally, driving through the midwest, little seems as apparent as this. While some visual media, like painting, have flexibility with their adherence to representational rules, photography typically does not. These photographs of horizon lines are printed on canvas and overlaid with paraffin to imply painterly qualities.
